On March 28, 2014, Natalie Mejia-Tavares, a 21-year-old woman, was found dead in her apartment on Summerfield Street in Ridgewood, Queens, New York. She was discovered alongside Luis Oscar Padilla Lopez, also 21, who had recently moved in with her.
