In the spring of 1988, the life of 43-year-old Maxine Peterson was violently cut short in a hail of bullets in Queens, New York. On May 28th, while holding her infant child in her kitchen, Peterson was fatally shot. The brazen attack was believed to be an act of vengeance, allegedly in retaliation for a shooting carried out by her son earlier that same day.
