On a summer evening in 2014, tragedy struck in a Coney Island housing complex, leaving a family heartbroken and a community searching for answers. Lawrence Walden, a 27-year-old man, was fatally shot on the evening of Thursday, July 10, 2014. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. at the Gravesend Housing Complex on Bayview Avenue. His family said he was simply on his way to the store.
