In the spring of 2015, a sudden burst of violence on a Queens street shattered the Saturday afternoon calm and ended the life of 54-year-old James Burnett. On that day, Burnett, a resident of Brooklyn, found himself in the Jamaica neighborhood of Queens. It was around 12:45 p.m. when the tranquil atmosphere on Sutphin Boulevard, near 111th Avenue, was irrevocably broken by the sound of a gunshot.
