In the early hours of a spring morning in Queens, New York, a young man’s life was tragically cut short. Michael Navarrette, a 22-year-old male, was shot in the head and died on May 17, 2020. The fatal incident occurred around 12:50 a.m. in front of a deli located at 108-02 Guy R. Brewer Boulevard.
According to police reports, officers from the 103rd Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting two individuals had been shot.
Upon arrival, they discovered Michael Navarrette with a gunshot wound to his head. Another man, who was 28 years old, had sustained a gunshot wound to his leg. Both victims were transported to Jamaica Hospital for medical attention. While the second victim was listed in stable condition, Navarrette succumbed to his injuries the following day.
