Brian Raymond Moore, a 25-year-old New York City police officer, tragically lost his life on May 2, 2015, in Queens, New York. Moore was on duty as a plainclothes officer, patrolling the residential neighborhood of Hollis with his partner, Erik Jansen. During their patrol, they observed a man, later identified as Demetrius Blackwell, adjusting his waistband in a suspicious manner. When the officers approached Blackwell and asked him to stop, he responded by firing shots into their unmarked car.
