In the quiet neighborhood of Floral Park, Queens, a shocking act of violence cut short the life of 19-year-old Jay Patel in October 2019. A student at Nassau Community College, Patel was found by a passerby lying unconscious in the street on 268th Street, just a short distance from his home. He had suffered a fatal gunshot wound to his abdomen and was pronounced dead at a local hospital. The community, known for its safety, was left stunned and searching for answers.
