In the summer of 2015, the city of Rochester, New York, was shaken by a violent act that claimed the life of 17-year-old Jonah Barley. On the night of August 19th, a crowd had gathered for a basketball game at the Boys & Girls Club on Genesee Street. As the event concluded and people began to disperse, gunfire erupted from a passing vehicle, turning a scene of community gathering into one of tragedy. Barley was one of three young men who lost their lives in the mass shooting.
