On October 5, 2023, just before midnight, 32-year-old Shalar Davy was fatally shot near the intersection of Portland Avenue and Norton Street in Rochester, New York. Responding officers found Davy on the sidewalk with gunshot wounds to his chest and abdomen; he was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
