In the Bronx, a borough of New York City, the summer of 2015 was marked by a tragedy that left a family heartbroken and a community searching for answers. Jorge Luis Vargas, a 39-year-old Hispanic man, was found deceased on Tuesday, August 25, 2015, inside a fifth-floor apartment at 4582 Manhattan College Parkway. His life had been violently cut short by gunshots to his head and torso.
