On March 17, 2024, in Dallas, Texas, 80-year-old Betty Lou Hearn was found deceased in her home on Colwick Avenue, having suffered a fatal gunshot wound to the head. The discovery was made after her granddaughter, 30-year-old Kelsie Miles, arrived at the Grand Prairie Police Department around 5 a.m. and confessed to the shooting. Miles informed officers that she had shot her grandmother at their shared residence.
