In Oklahoma City, a distressing call to police led to the discovery of a one-year-old boy who was unresponsive. The male child, Blane Onlabee, was quickly transported to a local medical center, but tragically, he was pronounced dead. The subsequent investigation by the State Medical Examiner's Office revealed a grim reality: the infant had succumbed to severe internal injuries.
The focus of the investigation soon turned to the child's mother, 27-year-old Brandy Perry.
Following an interview with detectives from the Crimes Against Children Unit, Perry was taken into custody and booked into the Oklahoma County jail. She faced grave charges of child abuse and first-degree murder in connection with her son's death.
According to a probable cause affidavit, Perry admitted to investigators that her frustration had led to a fatal act. While changing his diaper, she reportedly shoved down on his abdomen. The court document further revealed that she did not seek medical help for the boy until she found him unresponsive two hours later. The state medical examiner determined the cause of death to be 'massive internal injuries that were sustained from blunt force trauma.' The investigation also brought to light that there had been previous indications of abuse.
