On December 5, 2016, 23-year-old Tamaika White, a young African American woman, was tragically shot and killed while riding as a passenger in a vehicle along the 1300 block of S. Marsalis Avenue in Dallas, Texas. The assailant, who was in a separate vehicle believed to be a gray Toyota Matrix with a sunroof, fired at the car, ending Tamaika's life in a sudden act of violence.
