In the summer of 2017, a violent encounter in the Melrose section of the Bronx cut short the life of 44-year-old Victor Marquez. On the afternoon of Sunday, August 13th, Marquez approached a younger man, 20-year-old Deshawn Brown, in front of an apartment building at 3125 Park Avenue. The meeting was tragically brief and ended in gunfire. Brown allegedly shot Marquez in the head in broad daylight.
