In the Bronx, a dispute over drugs on a September afternoon in 2015 proved fatal for 24-year-old David Hooks. On September 20th, on a street corner at East 194th Street and Briggs Avenue in the Fordham neighborhood, an altercation led to his death. Surveillance footage from that day captured Hooks and another man chasing Kadeem Carty. In a sudden turn of events, Carty turned and fired at the two men, striking Hooks twice in the lower back.
