In the early morning hours of November 1, 2015, Fitzgerald McBride, a 46-year-old man from Brooklyn, was found in his car outside Interfaith Hospital. He had sustained gunshot wounds to his arm and torso and was pronounced dead at the hospital. Investigators believe McBride was shot at a different location and had attempted to drive himself to the hospital for help.
Police later determined that the shooting occurred in front of 1330 Atlantic Avenue in the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood.
This location was approximately four blocks from where McBride was ultimately found in his vehicle. Evidence from the scene and video footage showed McBride driving his car in the direction of the hospital after the shooting. There were two bullet holes found in his Chevrolet Silverado.
