Robert Enoch Hinton, a 28-year-old resident of Brooklyn, New York, tragically lost his life on November 26, 2015. Hinton, who had previously survived a brutal beating by correction officers at Rikers Island in 2012, was fatally shot in the head and stomach outside the Van Dyke Houses in Brownsville, Brooklyn. This incident occurred just weeks before he was set to receive a $450,000 settlement from the city for the injuries he sustained during the Rikers Island assault.
