In the early morning hours of February 13, 2016, a burst of gunfire shattered the atmosphere inside Harlem Nights Bar, leading to the tragic death of 22-year-old Jarel Mitchell. A resident of the Bronx, Mitchell was inside the establishment on Adam Clayton Powell Jr. Boulevard when the incident occurred shortly after 3 a.m. He sustained two gunshot wounds to his back and was rushed to Harlem Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
