On June 25, 2023, 18-year-old Eliahs Emmanuel Brazoban was fatally shot on the Lower East Side of Manhattan. The incident occurred shortly after midnight near the intersection of Rivington and Pitt Streets. Police responding to a 911 call found Brazoban with a gunshot wound to his neck. He was transported to New York-Presbyterian Lower Manhattan Hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
