Carlos Peralta, a 76-year-old resident of New Orleans, was fatally shot on December 31, 2015. The incident occurred in Gentilly, specifically near the 3400 block of Franklin Avenue. Authorities responded to reports of gunfire in the area at around 5:54 p.m. and found Peralta suffering from a gunshot wound. He was transported to a nearby hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
