On a summer evening in New Orleans, 43-year-old Jerome Carter, a Black male, was driving on Interstate 10 when his life was cut short. It was Sunday, June 7, 2015, when gunfire erupted on the interstate, and Carter became a victim of the fatal shooting. His vehicle, now a crime scene, came to a stop as the events of that night began to unfold for investigators.
