In the spring of 2017, a young man's life was tragically cut short on the streets of Brooklyn. Jeremy Germain, a 21-year-old male, was fatally shot in the East Flatbush neighborhood on the evening of May 27, 2017. The attack occurred near the corner of East 48th Street and Snyder Avenue, where Germain was discovered with multiple gunshot wounds to his back and arm.
Emergency responders arrived at the scene around 9:15 p.m. to find Germain unconscious and unresponsive.
He was rushed to Kings County Hospital, but his injuries proved too severe, and he was pronounced dead. The shooter had fled the scene, driving away in a gold Chevy Tahoe down East 49th Street.
For eighteen months, the case remained unsolved, leaving a community searching for answers. Then, in December 2018, a breakthrough was made. The New York Police Department arrested 40-year-old Robeirto Roberts in connection with the murder. Roberts, a resident of Brownsville, was subsequently charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon. The arrest brought a sense of closure to a case that had lingered for over a year, marking a significant step toward justice for Jeremy Germain and his loved ones.
