On a Tuesday evening in the fall of 2020, the life of 16-year-old Amir Patterson was tragically cut short in his home borough of Brooklyn, New York. The male teenager was in the Crown Heights neighborhood at the Kingsborough Houses on October 27th when violence erupted. Around 10 p.m., police received a 911 call and responded to the public housing complex. Upon their arrival, they discovered Patterson on the first floor of one of the buildings with a gunshot wound to his chest.
