Earnest Brown, a 33-year-old male resident of East New York, was fatally shot while sitting in his car. The incident also left a 22-year-old woman, who was in the vehicle with him, wounded. At approximately 1:00 a.m., violence shattered the quiet of Halsey Street when a shooter or shooters opened fire on Brown's vehicle.
Emergency responders arrived
at a chaotic scene. Brown had sustained gunshot wounds to his head and torso. He was rushed to Interfaith Hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
