In the early morning hours in the East Flatbush section of Brooklyn, a dispute outside a private residence turned fatal. Brandon Sylvester, a 38-year-old male from Englewood, New Jersey, was shot in the chest following the altercation. The incident occurred around 1:00 a.m. on Thursday, February 13, 2025, outside a home on Beverley Road.
Police officers from the 67th Precinct responded to a call and discovered Sylvester with a gunshot wound.
Emergency medical services arrived at the scene and transported him to Kings County Hospital. Despite the efforts of medical staff, he was pronounced dead at the hospital.
The New York City Police Department is investigating the homicide. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting. Authorities are searching for a suspect who was reportedly seen leaving the area. The individual was described as a man wearing a green jacket and blue jeans.
