Rasheed Bennett, a 31-year-old resident of Brooklyn, New York, was tragically shot and killed on June 17, 2019. The incident occurred in the lobby of his apartment building located in the Eleanor Roosevelt Houses on Lewis Avenue in Bedford-Stuyvesant. Bennett had just exited the elevator when he was shot once in the chest. Despite the efforts of emergency responders who rushed him to Woodhull Hospital, Bennett succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.
