On a tragic Saturday night in Newburgh, New York, a violent encounter cut short the life of 25-year-old Hispanic male, Alexis Camacho. The fatal incident unfolded on November 3, 2018, near the intersection of Liberty and Clinton streets, where a robbery escalated into a deadly shootout. Camacho was shot and succumbed to his injuries at the scene. Another man, 28-year-old Antwaun "Twizzy" Thomas, was also killed in the exchange of gunfire.
A third individual was wounded during the incident but survived.
The investigation into the double homicide led to the identification of three men involved in the robbery. Authorities identified the suspects as Antwan Wakely and twin brothers Dominique and Devin Williams. In the aftermath of the violent crime that claimed two lives, the three men were apprehended and faced legal consequences for their roles in the deadly robbery. All three later pleaded guilty to charges related to the incident.
