In the early evening of Sunday, October 11, 2020, a burst of gunfire shattered the autumn quiet in an apartment on the southwest side of Indianapolis. When the echo of the shots faded, 22-year-old Andre Michael Suttice Jr., known affectionately to his loved ones as 'Man-Man,' lay dead. A second adult victim was also struck by the gunfire but was transported to a local hospital in stable condition.
Indianapolis Metropolitan Police Department officers responded to the scene in the 7100
block of Vega Way, near the intersection of Kentucky Avenue and Thompson Road, around 6:30 p.m. Inside the apartment, they located both victims. Emergency medical personnel arrived shortly after and pronounced Suttice dead at the scene.
In the immediate aftermath of the shooting, investigators worked to piece together the events that led to the deadly encounter. However, details about a potential motive or any person of interest were not immediately available to the public.
