Kevin Preiss, a 53-year-old NYPD officer, tragically died by suicide on June 26, 2019, at his home in Hicksville, New York. Preiss, who was just three days away from celebrating his 25th anniversary with the NYPD, fatally shot himself in the head while on the porch of his residence.
