In the early hours of a snowy February morning in 1972, the vibrant life of Edward Lee Morgan, a gifted 33-year-old male jazz trumpeter, was tragically cut short. The setting was Slugs' Saloon, a jazz club nestled in Manhattan's East Village, where Morgan's band had been performing. Between sets, a heated altercation erupted between Morgan and his live-in girlfriend, Helen Moore.
