On a late evening in June 2014, a violent encounter unfolded on a street in Harlem that would ultimately claim the life of Jorge Briu. The 32-year-old man was sitting in a vehicle at West 136th Street and Riverside Drive when the scene was shattered by gunfire around 11:45 p.m. Briu was struck in the neck, and a second man in the car with him, Arnold Cobo, 21, was shot in the head.
