In a tragic and deceptive act of violence, 30-year-old Davon Venable, a male resident of Manhattan, was fatally shot on the evening of January 14, 2022. The incident unfolded at his fourth-floor apartment within the Lillian Wald Houses on FDR Drive. Venable was at home with his father when they heard a knock at the door just before 9:57 p.m. An unknown individual on the other side of the door inquired if someone had called for an Uber.
