In the summer of 2019, a family gathering in the Bronx turned into a scene of sorrow and loss with the untimely death of 18-year-old Mohammed Touray. On the afternoon of Tuesday, August 6, 2019, emergency services responded to a 911 call from an apartment on Sheridan Avenue. Inside, they found Mohammed in a bedroom with a single, fatal gunshot wound to his chest. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his life could not be saved.
