In the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, on the night of Thursday, October 22, 2020, a tragic event unfolded that cut short the life of a young man. At approximately 10:50 PM, police responded to a 911 call reporting a shooting in front of 439 E. 154th Street. Upon their arrival, they discovered an unconscious and unresponsive male with multiple gunshot wounds to his body.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene and quickly transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals
/ Lincoln. Despite the efforts of the medical staff, the man was pronounced deceased. The victim was later identified as 27-year-old Leon Vega.
As of the initial reports, no arrests had been made in connection with the shooting, and the investigation remained active and ongoing. Authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or a motive in the killing of Leon Vega. The investigation into his untimely death continues.
