On the evening of June 11, 2023, at approximately 9:15 p.m., police responded to a 911 call reporting multiple people shot in front of 1787 West Farms Road in the Bronx. Upon arrival, officers found 34-year-old Jeremy Cancel with a gunshot wound to the torso. He was transported to St. Barnabas Hospital, where he was pronounced dead. Two other men, both aged 29, sustained gunshot wounds—one to the chest and the other to the buttocks—and were taken to the same hospital in stable condition.
