A dispute in the lobby of a Bronx apartment building on a Friday afternoon turned deadly, leaving a 33-year-old man, Trevor Roberts, dead from a gunshot wound to the chest. The incident occurred around 3 p.m. on March 10, 2023, inside the building at 1690 East 174th Street in the Soundview neighborhood. Roberts, a resident of Brooklyn, was reportedly involved in an argument with two other men before the fatal shot was fired.
Emergency services were called to the scene, and first
responders administered CPR to Roberts before rushing him to Jacobi Hospital. Despite their efforts, he was pronounced dead a short time later. A witness in the building reported hearing multiple gunshots from the third floor. Investigators found that Roberts was in possession of a firearm, though it is unclear if he had drawn the weapon during the altercation.
The two men involved in the dispute with Roberts fled the location before police from the 43rd Precinct arrived. As of now, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the investigation remains ongoing. Police have not released descriptions of the suspects and are urging anyone with information to come forward.
