In the early hours of May 14, 2020, 18-year-old Sean Christopher Brady was fatally shot in Rockaway Beach, Queens. The young man was sitting in his new car with a 24-year-old acquaintance in front of The Sandwich Shop on Rockaway Beach Boulevard at approximately 1:14 a.m. when the shooting occurred. Police arrived to find Brady unconscious in the driver's seat of the red Chevy sedan with a gunshot wound to his head.
His companion had been shot in the leg.
Both men were transported to Jamaica Hospital, where Brady was pronounced dead. The 24-year-old survived his injuries. A native of Brooklyn, Sean had moved to Arverne with his family and graduated from high school in 2019, just a few months after his mother's death. He had aspirations of attending a New York University online program.
The investigation into Sean Brady's murder is being conducted by the 100th Precinct Detective Squad. To date, no arrests have been made in connection with the shooting, and the case remains ongoing.
