Death by Force

On March 5, 1963, Calvin Dean, an African American male whose age is not specified in available sources, was operating a craps game in Ozone Park, Queens, New York City. During this event, he was fatally wounded. Subsequent investigations led to the arrest of six individuals, including James Edward Daniels, an African American male born in 1940 in Brooklyn. Daniels had a prior conviction from early 1960 for assaulting a man in Queens with a zip gun, resulting in a two-year prison sentence.
