In the early morning hours of a November day in Queens, a young man's life was cut short in a burst of violence that police believe was gang-related. Steve Perez, a 22-year-old man from Woodhaven, was with two friends near the corner of Elmhurst Avenue and Elbertson Street when they were approached by three other men.
