Dahmel Miller, a 23-year-old resident of Fort Greene, Brooklyn, was tragically shot and killed on September 8, 2020, inside the Queensbridge Houses in Long Island City, Queens. The incident occurred around 9:30 p.m. when Miller was struck in the abdomen and buttocks during a confrontation on the first floor of the building located at 40-12 Vernon Blvd. Despite his injuries, Miller managed to stumble up to the third floor before collapsing.
