In the Woodhaven section of Queens, a 28-year-old man named Eric Roman was found with multiple gunshot wounds on the morning of Friday, February 13, 2015. The attack, which occurred outside his residence on 89th Street near Atlantic Avenue around 11:50 a.m., ended a twelve-day period without a homicide in New York City, the longest such stretch since the city began keeping detailed records in this regard. Roman had been shot in the head, hand, and leg.
