In the winter of 2020, a Queens woman's life was tragically cut short in an act of violence that remains unresolved. Renee Harris, a 54-year-old female, was discovered unconscious and bleeding in the hallway outside her ninth-floor apartment in the LeFrak City complex in Corona on the afternoon of Sunday, December 27th.
Emergency medical services were dispatched to the scene at approximately 3:20 p.m. Upon arrival, they found Ms. Harris with wounds to her chest and shoulder.
She was rushed to Long Island Jewish Forest Hills Hospital, but her injuries proved to be fatal, and she was pronounced dead.
The New York Police Department quickly determined that Renee Harris had been shot multiple times with a small-caliber gun and ruled her death a homicide. Despite the ongoing investigation into her murder, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in connection with the case. At the time of the initial reports, the motive for the shooting was unknown. The case remains an open investigation, leaving a community in search of answers and a family grieving a profound loss.
