Wilta Wordsworth, a 15-year-old girl from Queens, New York, tragically lost her life on September 11, 2015. She was shot in the head inside a seventh-floor apartment on Collier Avenue near Briar Place in Far Rockaway. The incident occurred just after noon while Wilta was with another girl in the apartment. Witnesses reported hearing a commotion and a girl screaming for help. Wilta was rushed to St. John’s Hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries early the next morning.
