In the early morning hours of March 12, 2021, the quiet town of Litchfield, New York, became the scene of a grim discovery. The body of 19-year-old Akwen O. Ajang, a Black/African American male from Utica, was found lying in the roadway on Camp Road. The New York State Police responded to the report and upon their arrival, they determined that Ajang had died from an apparent gunshot wound, immediately launching a homicide investigation.
