On a summer afternoon in Rochester, New York, 18-year-old Christopher Wood's life was tragically cut short by gun violence. On June 12, 2021, while walking down Genesee Street with a 14-year-old acquaintance, shots rang out. Wood, a Black / African American male, was struck by multiple bullets and rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. His 14-year-old companion was also wounded but survived with non-life-threatening injuries.
