On a summer afternoon in Rochester, New York, 18-year-old Christopher Wood's life was tragically cut short by gun violence. On June 12, 2021, while walking down Genesee Street with a 14-year-old acquaintance, shots rang out. Wood, a Black / African American male, was struck by multiple bullets and rushed to Strong Memorial Hospital, where he ultimately succumbed to his injuries.
His 14-year-old companion was also wounded but survived with non-life-threatening injuries.

The investigation into Christopher Wood's murder led to the arrests of two 17-year-old suspects. Jah'miere Williams and Danny Greer were both taken into custody in connection with the fatal shooting. Williams was apprehended while in possession of a stolen, loaded handgun.
Both teenagers faced serious charges for their alleged roles in the crime. Williams and Greer were each charged with second-degree murder, attempted second-degree murder, and second-degree assault. Additionally, they both faced multiple counts of criminal possession of a weapon. Following their arrests, both suspects were held without bail as their cases proceeded through the legal system.
