On a Wednesday afternoon in Rochester, New York, the life of 31-year-old Eric Ruise, a Black male, was tragically cut short. On June 16, 2021, near the intersection of Bartlett Street and Jefferson Avenue, Ruise was ambushed in a brazen daylight shooting. The attack was sudden and overwhelmingly violent, with multiple assailants firing more than 20 rounds in his direction.
