Darius Burke-Wells, a 22-year-old resident of Rochester, NY, was tragically killed on August 16, 2016. He was found with a fatal gunshot wound to the upper body near a vacant home on Sherman Street, close to Elsdon Street, at approximately 6:30 a.m. Despite immediate efforts, Burke-Wells was pronounced dead at the scene. The incident occurred in a neighborhood that had been experiencing a surge in violence, with multiple shootings reported in the months leading up to his death.
