On the morning of September 30, 2023, 31-year-old Vernel Rose was fatally shot near the intersection of North Goodman Street and Pennsylvania Avenue in Rochester, New York. Police responded to the scene around 8:30 a.m. and found Rose deceased near the sidewalk, having suffered a gunshot wound to the back of the head.
