On a summer day in Utica, New York, the life of 14-year-old Jineedi Sheikh was tragically cut short. On July 3, 2021, police responded to reports of a shooting on Jefferson Avenue. Upon arrival, they discovered Jineedi critically injured from a gunshot wound to the head. He was rushed to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse for emergency medical care, but tragically, he succumbed to his injuries. Jineedi was a Black male.
