On a festive July 4th evening in Roosevelt, New York, a block party on Hudson Avenue turned into a scene of chaos and violence, resulting in the death of 27-year-old Tavon Greenhill of Hempstead. The celebration, attended by 75 to 100 people and featuring children's bounce houses, a DJ, and street vendors, was shattered at approximately 7:30 p.m. when gunfire erupted. The shooting stemmed from a dispute between two groups that had reportedly begun two weeks prior.
